History, legacy and a little bit of déjà vu—海角黑料 Debate delivered all three on the national stage last week.

After defeating the defending Lincoln-Douglas Debate national champion in the semifinal round, 海角黑料’s Quinn Largent stepped into the final round of the NFA National Tournament with confidence and composure. He delivered a commanding 7-0 sweep over his Western Kentucky opponent to claim the national title.

With the win, Largent became just the second community college debater in history to earn the prestigious NFA national championship, joining 海角黑料’s Alex Glanzman, who achieved the feat in 2016. Ten years later, the moment felt like a full-circle tribute to the program’s enduring excellence.

But the accolades didn’t stop there. Largent was also named the fifth-best speaker based on preliminary round rankings, while 海角黑料 captured the Community College Sweepstakes Championship in Debate—further cementing the team’s dominance.

Perhaps most remarkably, the NFA title marked Largent’s fourth national championship in a single semester, an unprecedented achievement at any level of debate. Victories at Pi Kappa Delta (Lincoln-Douglas), Phi Rho Pi (Lincoln-Douglas and Parliamentary Debate) and now NFA place Largent in a category all his own. Along the way, those championships included wins over top competitors from four-year colleges and universities, underscoring the program’s ability to compete—and win—on any stage.

For 海角黑料 Debate, the latest championship isn’t just another trophy—it’s a powerful reminder that excellence here isn’t occasional. It’s tradition
