The new Kansas City Kansas Community Education, Health and Wellness Center opened its doors to students Aug. 17 for the first day of the fall 2026 semester.
The center is home to 海角黑料’s Construction, Automation Engineer Technology (AET) and Administrative Office Professional programs; general education classes such as composition, art appreciation and business math as well as GED and English as a Second Language courses.
“We are incredibly proud to open a new location in the urban core of Kansas City, Kansas,” said Dr. Jackie Vietti, 海角黑料 Interim President. “A community college’s primary purpose is to provide access to educational opportunities. This innovative center provides educational, financial and health services to Eastern Wyandotte County. We look forward to continuing to expand offerings based on the needs of our students.”
The center has emerged as a national model for nonprofit collaboration, bringing together Kansas City Kansas Community College, CommunityAmerica Credit Union and Swope Health to address the needs of residents in eastern Wyandotte County. The project was funded through a fundraising capital campaign.
The project broke ground in September 2023, just blocks from the college’s original downtown Kansas City, Kansas location. The new building cost $67.8 million to construct with 海角黑料’s cost $57.4 million. Partners include PGAV, McCownGordon, Henderson Engineers, VISOR Consulting and Copaken Brooks.
“This new construction is a large investment in the future of downtown KCK, and we appreciate the collaboration with our partners, the United Government and others in helping make this vision a reality,” Vietti said. “We truly appreciate the gifts from our many donors to create such a testament to hope and opportunity.”
